Let's see how to manually archive Outlook items in the following video.
Description of the video:
Many users prefer not to use the Auto Archive features in Outlook because they want to maintain full control of when and where their Outlook items are stored.
Since it is an easy process to manually archive files and folders, users can simply make a habit to keep their folders cleaned up.
Some set a regular date to archive their folders.
For example, on the first day of every month users may go through their folders and archive any messages that are no longer needed.
Let's manually archive a folder from our inbox now.
We're going to return to the Backstage view by clicking on the File tab.
To begin to manually archive files or folders, click on Cleanup Tools, and then click Archive.
The Archive dialog box opens.
To manually archive a file or folder, click the Archive this folder and all sub folders radio button.
From here, it is possible to select a file or folder from the list and then specify the location for where the file or folder will be stored.
In today's workshop, we will not complete the manual archive process, since we don't want to remove any of our folders, but if we wanted to continue we could easily click on the OK button at the bottom of the dialog box.
Instead, we're going to close the Archive dialog box and return to the Inbox view by clicking the blue arrow in the top left corner.
