When working on a video project, especially one with multiple sequences, there will be times when you want to combine two or more sequences into one larger sequence. For example, the project we're working with today has three sequences that we want to combine into one finished sequence so we can export the completed video as one file.
Combining multiple sequences into one is a simple task. All we need to do is create a new sequence, then add the sequences we want to combine to the sequence we just created. For this exercise, we'll create a new sequence named Full Video in the Sequences bin, then add the Intro, Main, and End sequences to the Full Video sequence. As we create the new sequence, we’ll need to make sure we choose the same preset we used when creating the other sequences to ensure everything is consistent.
To indicate the new sequence should be made in the Sequences bin, in the Project: Dances panel,
Click
To start creating a new sequence, at the bottom right corner of the Project: Dances panel,
Click , Click Sequence…
To choose the HD 1080p 29.97 fps preset, if necessary, in the Available Presets section on the left side of the New Sequence dialog box,
Click
To name the sequence, in the Sequence Name field at the bottom of the New Sequence dialog box,
Press & Drag over existing text, type: Full Video
To finish creating the new sequence, at the bottom right side of the New Sequence dialog box,
Click
The new sequence will be created inside the Sequences bin.
NOTE: If for some reason the sequence was created outside of the Sequences bin, Press & Drag the Full Video sequence into the Sequences bin.
To add the Intro sequence to the Full Video sequence, in the Project: Dances panel,
Press & Drag from the Sequences bin to the beginning of the V1 track in the Timeline panel
To add the Main sequence to the Full Video sequence, in the Project: Dances panel,
Press & Drag from the Sequences bin to the V1 track in the Timeline panel, immediately after the Intro sequence
To add the End sequence to the Full Video sequence, in the Project: Dances panel,
Press & Drag from the Sequences bin to the V1 track in the Timeline panel, immediately after the Main sequence
To save the project, on the keyboard, press:
Control key + S
The Full Video sequence should look like the following image:
As we can see, the Intro, Main, and End sequences are now all part of the Full Video sequence, which we can then export as one file instead of three separate parts.
