Setting up a new project in oXygen XML Editor

When editing XML in oXygen XML Editor, it can be helpful to create a project to make it easier to access related files and folders needed for an XML project. If an oXygen project is saved in the same folder as any files you want to work with, those files will automatically display in the Project panel, eliminating the need to import the files manually.

The following steps will walk you through setting up a new project in oXygen.

NOTE: These steps assume you are working through the content of the course XML: Schemas and have extracted the exercise files to the desktop. If you’re working on a different project, substitute any references to the exercise files used with your own project’s information.

1. Open oXygen XML Editor.
2. To create a new project, in the menu bar,
  Click Project, Click New Project
3. To choose where to save the project file in the New Project dialog box,
  Click Desktop, ClickXML_Schemas
4. To give the project a name, in the File Name field,
  Press & Drag the current title, type: job_postings
5. To finish saving the file, in the bottom right corner of the New Project dialog box,
  Click Save

Once the project is created, the files located in the XML_Schemas folder will display in the Project panel.
